Strathclyde Sleep Centre co-director Dr Megan Crawford recently met with Gaelic singer and broadcaster Joy Dunlop for BBC Alba’s Trusadh series. Their recent episode Cadal – Scottish Gaelic for ‘Sleep’ – follows Joy Dunlop as she meets with people from across Scotland to discuss their sleep and their struggles with it.
The episode emphasises the importance of sleep for the health and wellbeing of the country, and Strathclyde Sleep Centre is highlighted as one of the few places in Scotland conducting research into sleep. Dr Crawford discusses some of the research that we undertake, particularly around investigating and adapting cognitive behavioural therapy for insomnia (CBT-I), and provides some useful advice for how we might go about improving our sleep.
The episode – Cadal – aired on BBC Alba on the 18th of November 2025. You can watch the episode on BBC iPlayer by Clicking Here.
